Dr. Andrea Frere

Dr. Frere grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, and received a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene at West Virginia University. Dr. Frere continued her education by attending dental school at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she met her husband and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Through a great passion serving her patients and her country, Dr. Frere decided to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and was commissioned as an officer in the US Navy upon graduation. She completed a General Practice Residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. During her residency, Dr. Frere found her true calling in pediatric dentistry.

Throughout her time in the Navy as a general dentist, Dr. Frere treated children at every opportunity and had great mentors in pediatric dentistry. After being stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Frere left active duty to fulfill her professional aspirations and further her training in pediatric dentistry. She attended a pediatric dentistry residency at Jacobi Medical Center in New York City. Being a hospital-based program, her residency exposed Dr. Frere to a wide variety of patients with various special needs. Dr. Frere loves to be able to give children a positive dental experience and help them create health habits. Dr. Frere has been complimented on her ability to put kids at ease and help them stay relaxed through dental visits.

After her residency, Dr. Frere headed south in search of warmer weather and a more laid-back lifestyle, settling in San Antonio.

Dr. Frere is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and continues to serve in the US Navy Reserve. She is the Officer in Charge for a Seabee detachment in San Antonio. Dr. Frere loves the Seabees! Hoorah!

Dr. Frere spends her free time with her husband, two kids, and three Yorkshire Terriers. She is outside most weekends gardening and doing yard work. She also enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, working out on her Peloton, and taking family walks.
